Green App Machine Reaches #1 on Clickbank One Week After Launch

As most of you know, my brother Peng Li launched Green App Machine last week. It’s a software that creates custom mobile apps in 12 minutes.

And I’m very happy to announce that it made it to number ONE in the Clickbank Marketplace!

See Peng Li is kinda the opposite of me. Growing up I was the incredibly adorable one. Cute as a button. So ridiculously cute that people loved their own kids a little less after meeting me. Haha. Actually the point I wanted to make was that I was very shy.

Peng Li is the outgoing one.

He’s definitely a people-person and has always maintained a very large tight-knit social circle.

So it came as no surprise that before he could afford it, he had a cellphone. Always texting and calling. While I sat in the corner playing video games. And now he never leaves the house without his two smartphones. One of which is only a few months old and already soon to be replaced.

Nobody understands the power of mobile marketing better than Peng Li.

And that’s why he dived headfirst into the world of mobile, and started creating and monetizing Android apps.

From there he developed a software that is incredibly easy to use. That anyone, and I mean ANYONE, can use.

For those of you that haven’t checked it out yet, Green App Machine basically allows you to create a custom mobile app in 12 minutes. From scratch.

Green App Machine 4-steps

Peng Li broke it down into four steps. So all you need to do is fill out the details of the app you want to create, add some images, click the mouse a few times, and that’s it. I know it sounds too good to be true.

But that’s what it is.

A software that creates mobile apps for you.

Now how much money you can make from this app depends entirely on how much effort you’re willing to put in.

I know some of you guys are skeptical. And that’s fine. Because after spending tens of thousands of dollars of my own money on various software, blueprints, systems, eBooks and more when I just started in IM, I’m skeptical of everything too.

But at the end of it all. I realized that even the best product in the world wouldn’t make you a single cent if you weren’t willing to put the work in.

Green App Machine is a software that creates apps for you. What you choose to do with it after that is completely up to you.

Now the reason why a lot of people are excited about this is because the mobile market is booming.

I can’t remember if I shared this stat with you before. But I like it because it has the word “sex” in it.

According to a recent online survey, 50% of people would rather give up sex for a weekend than give up their mobile apps. And 4% said they had actually used an app DURING sex.

Lol.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the power of smartphone apps.

Ok ok, here’s a better case study.

Angry Birds. Ridiculously addictive. Just writing about it and that theme song is stuck in my head. Da da da daaa. Da da da DAAAA. Da da dada dada dada dada daDA.

Cost to set up the app was $140,000. And it has grossed over $500 million since then. That’s over $500,000,000.00 (Always looks more impressive with the zeros added in!)

Right now 30 million apps are downloaded DAILY. One of those could be yours. In 12 minutes.

Everyone is going crazy for apps. And Green App Machine is definitely feeding the frenzy.

Peng Li, John Chow and I in Vegas

Even super blogger and close friend of mine, John Chow, wanted to be part of the action. He tried out the software and created his customized app in SEVEN minutes.

I wanted to post the video up here but Peng Li is pouting over the fact John beat his best time.

So you can go ahead and watch the video yourselves.

And if you haven’t signed up for Green App Machine yet then you’re more than welcome to check it out here.

You can skip to the end and leave a response. Pinging is currently not allowed.

Will the lack of a social presence hinder a brand?

Not on various social networking platforms sharing your personal statistics and daily whereabouts with the world? You could appear unusual or even suspicious to others, according to a recent UK report by the government’s chief scientist Sir John Beddington.

The report contradicts popular opinion of old that staring at your computer (and phone, tablet and other devices) rather than living in the real world with real people alienates you from normal society.

But LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter are all part of our current normal society – they’re all methods we use to communicate en masse.  History is littered with utterances of “It’ll never catch on” from the TV to telephone and internet, yet where would we be without them today?

Professionals are increasingly seeing the need to have a web presence to build and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients (and employers). The ‘younger’ generation run their social lives with Facebook and Twitter, gossiping, laughing together and arranging to meet – permanently online and available so they don’t miss a single moment.  And there are plenty of the older generation either taking to Facebook to keep up with their families, or grumbling about who knows what first because they don’t use Facebook.

Which sheds light on the report’s point of view that those who don’t network online could become ‘disenfranchised’.  Anyone not socially networked could be overlooked or appear conspicuous by their absence. The same goes for brands as well as individuals.

Brands that are thought of as “behind the times” have an increasingly short shelf-life and decreasing buyer population, so not connecting with others through social channels is far from desirable.

Of course, some actively choose not to stare at the Gogglebox or bare their innermost thoughts to the whole world on Facebook and Twitter, but they’re increasingly in the minority.

When it comes to marketing, selling products and keeping customers happy, who wants to reduce their ability to do so based on their availability?  Why not just ask your customers to write you a letter if they have something to say and have a chap on a horse deliver it in a week or so?

It’s time for everyone to get social and use the channels the masses use, in the way they want to use them, or get left behind.

How To Get More Traffic

Internet Marketing

As soon as a blogger publices their first post, their first question is: Where’s all my traffic? Everyone assumes they’s the only one seeking attention when in truth nearly everyone is. It takes time to build an qudience and no one gets much traffic without putting in the effort.

Here at WordPress.com we want you to get more traffic, and we build features and services to help. It’s been awhile since we’ve told you about them, so here are our top recommendations:

  1. Update your About Page. One of the first things visitors to your site will want to know is something about who you are. If you don’t update your About page to include a short bio, and they find a generic page instead,  they’ll be disappointed. But if you briefly explain (two paragraphs is plenty) what the blog is about, and who you are, they’ll be more likely to come back.
  2. Turn on PublicizeYou can easily set up your WordPress.com blog to automatically share new posts out to your Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo or LinkedIn accounts. This increases your reach every time you publish a post.
  3. Turn on Sharing. With a few clicks, you can make it so any visitor can share a link to your post out to their social networks, their blog, or through email.
  4. Let readers subscribe by email. Email is often forgotten as a source of traffic. If you turn on the Subscriptions widget, people can choose to get notified of new posts on your blog, automatically, via email. It’s a great way to keep them connected to your blog without any extra work for you, or for them.
  5. Post regularly. Pick a schedule that works for you – once a day, once  a week, once every two weeks, and stick to it. Mention that frequency in your About page, and put reminders on your personal calendar. It’s only when people can expect regular posts that they’ll be compelled to come back to see what you’ve written next. If you need ideas for posts, read and subscribe to DailyPost, where we give topic ideas and blogging advice every day. You can also use PressThis to quickly generate new posts while you are browsing the web.
  6. Write Well.  It’s often unsaid, but better posts get more traffic. There’s no sense in posting every day, if every post is boring or poorly written. It takes time to develop interesting ideas, and to edit posts to be concise and typo free. If people find a careless writer at work, they won’t be back. What good is more traffic if the content they see isn’t good enough for them to choose to return?
  7. Pick good titles. Blog post titles are like newspaper headlines. They need to be short and interesting to get people to want to see what’s inside. It takes some thinking to get a title down to a short sentence, but it’s time well spent. On Facebook and Twitter, all people will often see is the title and your link.
  8. Link to bloggers like you. When you link to another blog, they’ll typically get notified (via a pingback) that someone has mentioned them. This will encourage them to visit your blog and, if they like what they find, link to you as well in their posts. But do it sparingly; too many links and we call it SPAM. If you find a post you like, excerpt a paragraph and link to the rest. Also check out Freshly Pressed and ourGlobal Tags to find blogs with similar interests, and subscribe to their blog. You can use tags in your own posts so your work will surface there as well.
  9. Comment on other blogs like yours.  Every comment is an opportunity to show how well you write and think. When people read a great comment, they’ll see your name, and the link to your blog, encouraging them to see what else you have to say. Identify good blogs on topics similar to your own, read and contribute sincerely.
  10. Respond to every comment you get. When people comment on your blog, they’ve invested a lot of their time. Reward them by answering questions and taking their feedback, and they’ll come back again. Also see how to get more comments.
  11. Take requests.  Write a post requesting your readers (or your friends) to suggest topics to write about. Reach out to Facebook, twitter, or friends, for suggestions. Then let them know you’ve written about what they asked for. It’s a great way to make sure everything you write will have at least one reader.
  12. Pay for traffic. Web applications like StumbleUpon can bring visitors to your posts with rates starting at $.05 per visit. If you’ve just published a great post and you really want some feedback from visitors, this can be a good way to get started. Companies looking for broader distribution, including getting content seen by journalists, should try services like PR Newswire.

Often you’ll hear about get traffic fast schemes, but we don’t believe in those sorts of things. There’s not much magic or secrets necessary. The advice above, used thoughtfully, is more than sufficient to increase visitors to your blog.
